The history of the Cartier jewelry house began in Paris in 1847, when Louis-François Cartier took over his master's workshop. Soon, the creations of his son Alfred (1841-1925), then those of his heirs, attracted the aristocracy and elites from all over the world.

160 years after the opening of the first Parisian boutique, Cartier is established throughout the world, with a network of 300 exclusive boutiques and more than 5,500 employees. The house now belongs to the Richemont group.
